Bangladesh celebrate 44th victory day, December 16.It is the  national victory day of Bangladesh. This is 44th Victory Day of Bangladeshi people.  This victory day is celebrated not only all over the country but also in the whole world. As “Bijoy Dibos” this day is locally known. Here, “Bijoy” means “Victory” and “Dibos” means “Day”. West Pakistani (Present Pakistan) Army surrendered to the Bangladesh In 16th December 1971 after a 9 months Liberation war.

In march 26, 1971, West Pakistan Attack to peaceful people of Bangladesh in the mid-night when they were sleep. In first the people do not have any arms and any training. But Force of will and mind of the people achieve the victory in December 16, 1971. In this war at least 3 million people laid there life. After the 9 month liberation war in December 16, 1971, West Pakistan army surrendered to the joint liberation forces of Bangladesh freedom fighters and Indian army Headed by Lt. Gen Jagjit Singh Aurora (the Allied forces commander) in Dhaka.

After the liberation war we got freedom from west Pakistan (Present Pakistan). In this we get 7 Bir Sreshthos made a great contribution in the history. They are Bir Sreshtho Shaheed Mohiuddin Jahangir, Bir Sreshtho Shaheed Hamidur Rahman, Bir Sreshtho Shaheed Mostofa Kamal, Bir Sreshtho Shaheed Matiur Rahman, Bir Sreshtho Shaheed Mohammad Ruhul Amin, Bir Sreshtho Shaheed Munshi Abdur Rouf, Bir Sreshtho Shaheed Nur Mohammad Sheikh.

The people of Bangladesh observe the day every victory day in December 16 at Savar Jatiyo Smriti Soudho, Dhaka. In the morning people go the Jatiyo Smriti Soudho in open foot to respect the Martyr of liberation war.
